Samuel, Jigano, and Phoebe won their positions too, and his gaze only lifted back to Rexanna at the notion of Amalia’s pending triumph – the uncertainty lingering there, her name not brought forward by her own admission or interest, and with her current state, the precariousness drifted, heightened. He wouldn’t speak for the Shield – it would be up to her entirely, a confirming nod to the monarch again, justifying all of the decisions in the midst of silence.
