He hadn't realized how little joy there had been in the Hollowed Grounds since the festival until he saw it lighting up Maea's eyes - healed eyes, eyes that had once been cloudy and dim, but were no longer. His own widened in surprise as he looked down at her. "Maea... you can see now?" he asked, hoping against hope that there had been some miracle in the midst of all this loss and madness.
Her own question was of a smaller scope than he would have expected, and far more personal. His smile faded a little as he drew a breath and lifted the lantern, looking at the light within and then through it to the fields beyond. "Ah. Well. One of those things that have changed, I suppose... I've become something of a soul shepherd for Ludo, helping it collect those wandering spirits that have become lost or captured away from its call. Or those that refuse to follow, for whatever reasons. Given how many died here recently... it seemed prudent to be proactive and gather those who are ready to move on, within the lantern Ludo made for me." He smile wanly, turning his attention back to Maea and wondering what she would think of the news.
