He nodded, his role somewhat completed. “You are welcome,” funneled and contorted instead, shifting back to the ground to pick up his gloves, to adjust to kneeling once more, the hammer already back in his hands, eyes already noting some portion where he’d need to make adjustments, studying the slant, the ascent, the angles. “When is the ceremony?” Expecting it to be soon, if the rings were so necessary, pondering if these plans were scattered or ruptured, or if he’d just missed notices, the layers of time warped and frayed in the last few days.
