Without further prompting, Phoebe had taken Sunjata’s arm to follow him over to the alter. The calm that Frey had instilled did not fade as she left the god’s side, resolve building up around it. She was taking the plunge, and if she decided she didn’t like the temperature of the water, she could always get out. She didn’t need it to be a perfect fairytale ending.
But of course, then the floor was opened up for objections, and she blinked in surprise, glancing out at those gathered. One man stood but…suddenly a ball gag of all things appeared in his mouth. Frey’s silky voice caught her attention, and she couldn’t help the grin that took hold, realizing they weren’t just there to attend but to officiate – and apparently objections was not on their program. Warmth for her chosen deity spread in her heart, and she nodded to their question. ”Yes.”
