“But that doesn’t make you a bad person.” A brief pause, a small smile crossing her face at the thought of how he could be so bubbly, so bright, when life had given him such dark turns. The same way she struggles to feel comfortable within the light, within the sunlight that cascades from above. As though she doesn’t deserve any of the happiness that could be brought to her. “You’re strong. To have gone through all of that and still be… Well, you. That’s incredible.” She smiles at the thought of it.
“I was not that strong.”
