Exhaling quietly, he runs a hand through his hair. “When Hotaru kissed me.” He offers, gaze slipping toward the summoner with a dark raised brow. “Minutes before I went to go see if Phoebe wanted to call it off. I think she wanted to. I think Hotaru hoped so too.” He shrugs.
“Phoebe was clinging to another man, I can’t remember his name, but when I showed up she was crying like I was some sort of monster forcing her to do this.” He looks forward toward the shrine they approach again. “And I told her it was okay to call it off if she wanted to, Frey arrived and said the same thing. But Phoebe kind of just shut down like she does.” His gaze shifts back down to look at the ring along his finger. “Frey got her out of it by just saying that marriage was something mortals did and it didn’t mean anything in the end, whether she married me or not. So. You know the rest that came after that.”
But they’re there at the shrine, giving their offerings and prayers or none if there were some. And his gaze flits back to Loren after a quiet amount of time. “You sure you don’t wanna go throw some punches?” Another quiet question, a dark brow lifted. Because he would, if that’s what Loren wanted to do.
