He doesn’t mind taking the point of the search, not that he can kind of grasp around where he is now. He’s not sure how much Deimos trusts him after everything – but enough to get him to the center of the maze, to hopefully find the elusive herb he’s been looking for, and when they round out into the clearing, Haai howls a growling sound to an imposing band of squirrels, incessantly chanting their ‘follow me’s. There’s a pulse of pride that slips from Sunjata as he focuses on the griffin briefly, falling back in step beside Deimos when the General speaks.
