He’s fine when he does nothing – but he hates doing nothing, and so he typically pushes himself too far, faces the consequences after when his lungs seize and his body can’t quite work the way that it should.

She goes over her rocks and he focuses on his small pile, pursing his lips together in thought as though he’s got some mental checklist he’s sifting through. “Nope, I think that’s about it.” He teases back to her, a rasping rumbling chuckle of laughter, watching her dive below the surface again.
