Problem was, she was scared. Of her own body and its reactions, of the desire she saw in his gaze when he looked at her, and the response it evoked within her in turn. She, who'd never even been kissed before, had never tried to explore these things before. Had never cared to find out about pleasure or her own limits. Why should she? Most of her days had been spent toiling to produce enough food to survive every day. Had battled illness and meager farmlands, sheep and seedghosts in the apple trees with no time to spare save to sleep. Eat. Rinse and repeat. Oh, there had been boys she'd peeked at on the occasional festival, but it had never gone beyond that. Maea was the weird girl, the pale freak, and the closest she'd come to a kiss was a group of sniggering youths trying to bribe her with sweets so she'd lift her skirts. She'd been saved by her brother, that time, and been quite put off anything that had to do with her own intimate parts.
And now... Sunjata was casually setting her on fire, and she had no idea how to handle this burn. What to do with it, when to push or pull or... whether she really should keep going. Where was the limit? Did she even have boundaries still?
His little break was welcome, and she tried to reassure with a smile that she was okay but... the insecurity was shining through all the same. Her hands felt a little stiff, somewhat numb; all her focus had gone to the trail of shimmering touches he traced along her neck and focusing on anything else was very difficult. He'd seemed to like her holding his head though... trying it again, she leaned in to brush her lips against his cheek, terribly shy and plenty unsure... but curious.
