She never moves from her stance in front of Rex, the most vulnerable of them all. As much as she would like to be everywhere at once, Hotaru still has only one body to maneuver during this training. The mild sting of errant embers is shouldered stoically, preferring they bounce off her skin instead of her sister's.
With her own minimal stature it's difficult to be a proper shield, but she shamelessly rips off her outer layer - leaving her in only her cloth bra - and with a flourish drapes it over Rexanna for further protection. It's really the best she can do unfortunately with such offensive-based magic.
