With the ease of one picking her way through a garden, she walked out to where the line disappeared into the water, reached down as far as she could, and brought a large globule of water up from deeper depths. Within it was a fish, thrashing about and still struggling against the hook and line jutting from its mouth.
"Do you want to keep it?" she asked, calm as the breeze as she looked back over her shoulder at the fisherman.
