The discovery of the hammer was met with an excited huff from Nate, the aborted result of a sound that would have been much louder if he hadn’t remembered where they were at the last second. ”I knew I brought you around for a reason.” He crooned, snatching the hammer and turning back to the wall.
It was a struggle to not just smash against the rock directly, open the face of it up in the most direct way Nate knew of, but this was a situation that required a little more tact. A moments more searching. The hammer had to be for nails, which meant there had to be nails. At least one. Buried in the muck, in a crack in the ground, but not so deep that he couldn’t pry it out. Rusted, but not so much that it was unusable.
Nate was practically vibrating as he returned to his spot on the wall, nail and hammer in hand. It was weak, it was rudimentary, but it should get him at least a little bit into the wall, carefully enough that he wouldn’t damage whatever called to him.
