Snow crunched beneath their boots. Glancing over with an incredulous look, Maea shook her head at him. "Of course we won't go looking for Ursur," she replied, halfway into a grin but not quite sure whether he'd seriously considered it. She kept her voice low, already settling into the stillness of the region, adapting to it.
"If we see tracks or signs they've been nearby, we'll go the other direction. There should be plenty of other animals around; far easier to find than in the Woodlands." Which was why she'd suggested coming here, rather than stay at home or go for the Wildwood. She was not sure what the Fae might think of Grounders picking off their game.
Out here? Hopefully no one would care.
"Oh, he did?" Maea looked surprised, as flattered as she was puzzled that the men had been talking about her. "Yes, he is right. I tried to make a living on it for a while, but my eyes were not good enough towards the end. Wasn't strong enough for my brother's bow, and he refused to get a new one just for me." One of the few things they had ever argued about.
