As Amun went to carry the Hel to the cage, he paid a little too much attention to the bird and not nearly enough attention to his footing. So his boot slipped on a patch of wet rock. Arms windmilling (incidentally tossing the Hel into the air, where it made its merry escape) he fell backwards, slamming his head on the ground hard enough to split it open.
Although he felt no pain, he was temporarily dazed. Even though his wounds were already healing, he found himself reacting instinctively. His hand closed around a rock and he tossed it without much aim towards the birds high above. As he did, Nate showed up and asked what they were doing. The potter let his head flop to one side to stare at the doctor. "We are trying to get the Hels into that cage." Amun let his hand wave vaguely in the direction of the cage.
Rexanna's efforts would similarly fail, though thankfully in a much less spectacular fashion. Her firework went just wide of the birds, which called down to her almost tauntingly. However, the Hels celebrated a bit too soon, as the arrowWessex loosed took one cleanly in the wing.
With a squawk, it plummeted to the ground, injured and stunned (much like Amun was). Meanwhile, the bird Sam was holding pecked and wiggled enough that it managed to escape the bookmaker’s grip. However, even it was surprised by this development and it landed on the ground, hesitating long enough for someone quick to grab it.
There are two Hels on the ground, one of which is injured. The flock is even more agitated, though it is still circling above. Amun attempts to throw a rock at them.
Amun's attempt to put the bird in the cage resulted in him slipping and cracking his head open.
Sam's attempt to put the bird in the cage failed! The Hel landed on the ground.
Wessex managed to shoot down one of the Hels!
Rexanna's firework missed!
Nate showed up but did nothing this round.
