It wasn’t that he cared either way what people thought, but... well, Saiden was the only one, it appeared, who would ever be able to share memories of Vanya with him again. Souring that opportunity seemed silly.

Still, that might not mean he wanted to see Saiden, necessarily. ”I will pass on your message and see how it goes from there,” he told him.
