He hadn’t intended to scare the deer the first time, he’d just been trying to escape the dragon. By the time he’d made it to another tree, the dragon — Jigano — had taken down one of he deer and was asking for assistance to take down more. Rance landed on another branch, but didn’t fold his wings, already trying to gather himself. His confusion wasn’t helped by the scattered of wordless, foreign something that was flooding his mind. He shook himself, as if to shake away the strangeness of it, feathers fluffing.
Fuck…. Yeah. Can’t hurt to try. Before he even finished sending the words, he was in the air again, looking for a way to safely dive near the deer. He flew close, keeping silent until he was right beside or in front of one, trying to herd it back toward Jigano. If he couldn’t get close, tracking them wouldn’t hopefully be too difficult?
Rance is confused by all the pain and emotions coming over the bond, but still tries to startle the deer again, this time on purpose. If he can’t close enough, he’ll follow them and let Jigano know their route.
