He briefly fluffed up his neck feather in an almost instinctual display of pride at Deimos comment. He might not have been able to tackle larger prey, but he did his part. And it seemed Deimos had taken down a deer as well. Whether he had done it alone or with the missing panther, only the trees would know. You, too. Where are these headed, anyway? Sold to a butcher? He was far to curious not to ask. He almost asked about their missing member as well, but there had been a rather… tense air about the feline and Deimos. Maybe if Rance had known either of them better, but for now it was better not to ‘poke the bear’.
The lack of panic in Oliver’s ‘voice’ kept the raven on his perch, and a good thing, too. A few moments later, the spotted cat returned, looking worse for wear, but mostly unharmed. Had Rance not experienced the ferocity of the local wildlife himself, he might have found Oliver’s bedraggled appearance amusing. Instead, he found himself sympathizing. If he hadn’t been with Jigano, he likely wouldn’t have caught anything either. Those birds were fuckin’ insane, he commiserated.
