After the unpleasant meeting with Amun, however brief, Ronin was learning that while the world left its marks upon him, he too could scar those around him if he wasn’t careful. That Sam only ‘didn’t like him very much’ was pleasantly surprising, given the reception he might have received.
He sighed as the Ascended continued, shrugging in a melancholy cousin of agreement. ”Having been through it, I can say that even I don’t know what he needed. What I needed. It isn’t something that has words, I don’t think.” Helpful? Probably not. But true? Absolutely.
”He is doing a lot better these days,” he continued, speaking of Remi. ”I can see him again, underneath everything that has happened. Still, I can’t say he would particularly look forward to seeing you.” Not after the display on the beach.
