{Yup! Just letting Jigano ‘speak’ in case any other Attuned joined the thread}

Rory’s smile, however small, was all the invitation the fox had needed to finish his approach and embroil the man in his game. Laughter bespoke an easy-going nature and a willingness to play, and the smooth way he rose with pike in hand revealed a quiet competence the fox could appreciate. He dealt with the gourds calmly enough – perhaps this wasn’t his first encounter with the devilish vegetation? But there was a large number of the unholy orbs and it wasn’t fair to expect him to do all the work.

Jigano abandoned his safe base behind his new ally to pad off to the side, crouching for a moment and calculating his next move as the blond’s pike-turned-hammer swept a couple of their fruity foes to pulp. Rory had drawn the full attention of the patch and, for a moment, even the fox’s distinctive white coloring went unnoticed as a much larger and more dangerous prey took the attention of their attackers. What more could he ask for?

As the next swing of the pike scythed by, Jigano leapt into the fray once more, taking advantage of the opening to plant his paws on top of an overzealous pumpkin before it could reach Rory’s ankles. From there he bounded to a squash and then the scratched calabash once more before he touched foot on leaf-strewn soil again, this time behind the bumbling group. As he’d hoped, a number of their fiendish friends were drawn back to his dash through their midst and turned away from Rory, easing the number of gourds still bobbling and rolling their way after the man.

With a yip of encouragement to his erstwhile partner Jigano danced back, taunting the enemies focused once more on their original quarry and drawing them off a little ways, darting in with bats of a paw or a flick of his tail to keep their attention on the game of tag while Rory reaped their brethren down to a more manageable number.
