we live in a world someone else imagined
"Mm... I'm seeing both the past and things I don't understand," Ronin murmured to Deimos, wondering whether he really ought to look in another puddle. He was pleased, this time, to see a brightly starlit sky, though what it meant and whether it was a future vision was beyond him. In the puddle a star began to fall, and Ronin moved on. "Maybe not the future, then, but our fortune."
That brought a smirk to his lips, and the Star skirted around Zuriel (she might have healed him but he did not want to get on her bad side) to stand nearer to Deimos (though whether he was any better was beyond him). "Did you have fortune tellers, back where you are from?" he asked, peering now into a puddle that strangely did show his reflection, at least at first. Then it shimmered and became the face of a person he didn't know.
