Though she is thankful for the help, for the familiar and new faces, and she cannot help but wonder what Korbin would think if he walked in right about now. He’d probably start to figure it out, after flipping out over the company Weaver was keeping. She had picked a day she knew he’d be busy on purpose.
As the others settle into their tasks, Weaver is left with the task of disguising the door. She is not surprised, as it might be the worst task on the list, but she’s been pondering that issue for a while now so she doesn’t mind taking it on. There are metal racks in the kitchen, designed for holding pots, pans, and other supplies. Weaver grabs a few tools and begins to affix the racks to the door and on the wall next to it, making sure that there’s a subtle enough break in the rack so that the door can swing open. The goal is to make it look like part of the wall, such that no one would think to swing it open.
With the metal racks on the wall, Weaver closes the door briefly, sticking her head inside to yell to Sunjata that he wouldn’t be trapped for long. It looks good, and covered in various kitchen tools, you’d never know to look back there. The only issue is how the hell to lock the door. Shit, she didn’t think about that. Obviously she can’t have anyone accidentally opening the door when they went to grab a pan.
Before she can open the door again, she hears a large crash from behind the door. Swinging the door open quickly, she peeks inside to see Sunjata. The old shelving in the back room, which likely once housed drying meat, had broken, with pieces now scattered on the floor. Whether he had put too much weight on them or they simply gave out of their own accord, she doesn’t know, but they clearly need fixing. ”You okay?” she says, double checking that he’s fine.
Maybe it’s the crash from the back or just the pretty Hotaru distractingWessex, but regardless, the demi-god knocks over the bucket of dirty mop water. Well, it was almost clean. Weaver pokes her head out at the sound of the bucket crashing to check in on things. She can’t help but laugh slightly at the mess of them. Only Hotaru seems to be doing well. ”Well, Ru, at least your wall looks good,” she says, using the name she’d heard Sunjata use. ”Since you are doing better than the rest of us, do you mind unpacking those crates of booze and setting them on the shelves? I’m sure you will make them look nice.” A bar was all about aesthetic, after all, and that included displaying the wares nicely.
