Things start to go more smoothly. Weaver manages to figure out how to lock the door. It takes some time, but she is able to use the holes in the racks (designed so the shelving could be adjusted) to her advantage. She positions one hole over the lock on the door, and with some time and patience, bends a few small pieces of metal so they can be used to easily turn the lock. It’s vaguely akin to picking a lock (yes, she does know how), though it’s much easier, designed so that anyone who knows how to turn a key could open the door. They would just need a special key and a clue where to look for the lock.
When she is finally done, she makes her way into the back room to see how Sunjata is fairing. It seems he’s fixed the shelves, and the room looks like a proper meeting room. It reminds her a bit of the one at the VlamVloed, though not as large, and with its own Halo flair. Weaver hands him one of the “keys” and takes a moment to show him how the door works before heading back into the bar area.
Wessex and Hotaru were both successful as well. The place is finally sparkling thanks to all Wessex’s cleaning, and Hotaru has made the bottles look lovely on their shelves. More important, she managed not to drop any and waste perfectly good booze. Now that would have been a crime.
”Just one more thing,” she says, with an apologetic grin. Weaver nods at the large slab of dark wood that rests against a wall. The bar top. It needs to be put in place, and there was no way in hell she could move it herself. Wessex might be able to, but the size alone would require a few people to make sure it was positioned correctly. ”I could use some help getting the bar in place, and then we are done.”
