Sam nodded faintly, not wanting to see Loren less (the thought actually made his chest ache, as if his heart were bleeding), but he knew it was the only way he'd get rid of whatever feelings he had let build up about the man in the last weeks. "You...don't need to be sorry. I've had a very nice time with you, and that's really all that matters, isn't it?" He said kindly, looked up to Loren's face and squeezed his hand back.
"Of course. I'll write you letters. And I still want to visit the Citadel every so often." Not just for Loren; he still had lore to find and write down. That still didn't make him feel that much better in the moment though and with a sad hum he laid his face on Loren's chest. "Just...for tonight, hold me...and let's just sleep? It's a lovely quiet night." It really was, with the shine of moonlight through the crack in the curtains and only the faint sounds of wind outdoors: a fitting goodbye to a short lived affair, he thought.
