They come, small and insignificant specks against the tide of fleeing people. It has been hundreds of years since Apopo last erupted, and most of those living in Haulani now are entirely unprepared. So those on the ground - save for Saiden who has created quite the deterrent in a 30ft wall of water - will find themselves caught in the shove and clamour of people running for the beach. Is the beach even the right way to go? Who knows right now.
Perhaps it is because Sunjata has been making a life for himself in Torchline that he is recognisable to some of the locals, because when he calls out and directs the crowds, they listen. They more than listen, in fact - the guildmaster is able to get the attention of a few other well-known merchants, and the word spreads. Chaos becomes order, and the screams grow quieter as people follow his instructions.
Nate has success, too, though not quite on Sunjata's level. The people he attempts to help do listen, and they follow his orders, though a few stragglers joining the crowd cause a bit of a shoving match.
For Remi, of course, he will see all of this transpire from overhead; the streams of people in varying degrees of order, heading for the beach under Nate and Sunjata's orders. He will see, as well, those who are not doing so well. Already there are people who have been trampled, who have fallen under the feet of their friends and neighbours. He will see the mountain belching smoke, he will feel the heat growing against his feathers. Down from Apopo, the lava stream begins to pick up its pace.
AndJigano is there waiting. Though the lava has not reached him yet, the smoke is beginning to drift down. And make no mistake, it is toxic.
