"But I hurt him, and his husband, very, very badly. So badly that it's unforgivable. He's absolutely right to feel that way, and it is definitely entirely my fault." He took a deep breath. "My fault, okay? Not his, and definitely not yours." That came out with as much certainty as he could muster

"He would be unhappy if he found out we were hanging out, though, and I can't say he'd be wrong to feel that way. And you don't want your daddy to be upset, do you?" He sent an almost desperate plea for help through his bond with the bartender, more sensation and emotion than actual coherent thought.
