Like it or not, Remi had a very good point about Ludo, and Ronin pressed his shoulder against the alchemist's affectionately. To hear that he was being particularly careful about the god, even knowing that Ludo could likely appear as Aoife whenever Remi wanted it to... it was reassuring as much as it was sad. "Of course it isn't my idea. It's probably yours, and you just forgot about it to make... whatever that was instead." He nodded over the side of the cliff.

"The way she used to smile when you caught her doing something naughty. How she'd stamp her feet when she was happy, and hide from you when she was tired. It's impossible to capture that, isn't it?" He shuffled closer to Remi, wrapping an arm around his husband to draw him close against his side.
"You have me," he agreed, though things still felt distant between them. Like they were on different islands out at sea, and could only wave at each other. "You'll always have me."
