However, that happy expression was wiped away immediately when the other man asked who the potter had lost. Swallowing, he turned back to his work. "Maea." Swinging the axe, somehow controlling it even as his features contorted into a mask of grief, he broke off one more stone. "We...considered each other family."
Bending down to pick up the stone he'd secured with his latest efforts, he added it to Bastien's bag as well. Then Amun grabbed a few smaller pieces and slipped them inside as well. Straightening up, he slipped his pickaxe back into its holster. "The Voice didn't say how much rock to collect, but I think that's plenty. I can carry it back." An olive branch of sort, after his previous outburst.
