Delphine beamed proudly at the bird, as the man fished in the little pouch. He'd find an assortment of herbs, some crushed and others whole, and then a little vial, which held a fine, white powder.
Delphine is too busy cradling her bird, cooing soft sounds to him, to listen in on the two men talk, or she would have brightened at the idea of being left on Remi's porch.
