The thing about change is that you have to be willing to do it in order to work on it. And what Sunjata can see in Korbin right now is the opposite of that — the hunkering down and shutting out, knowing that people can see what’s wrong and not be willing to let them in. He knows. He’s done it so many times. Until he’d had Nate pinned against the wall and his own stubbornness won out against Sunjata’s own.

He doesn’t know what that might be for Korbin, maybe to channel it into the music he makes or a different type of work. All he knows is that for Sunjata himself, his means of coping often came with brawling or sharing a bed. It worked for him, the only reason he’d made it this far.
