Harper pauses in the middle of turning one of the pages as he hears quiet footsteps descend down the staircase. It's a brief hesitation, but then he returns to reading. Surely Phoebe could be coming downstairs for any manner of reasons? Apparently not, and he couldn't help the small grin at her owlishly craned neck.
Setting his book aside he flips fully over his shoulders to stand smoothly, turning and sitting in a more proper manner conducive to conversation. He most certainly hasn't met the Seat Car yet, and gives a curious blink at the creature, but he suspects the cat is not the topic of conversation today. "Of course. What's up buttercup?" Moving his book to the table in case she'd like to sit, he looks up at her expectantly.
