But as he saw the note she held up, his gaze widened - then narrowed - and finally settled on her face with something speculative in it.
Slowly, Korbin turned back. Shoved his hands deep into pockets, and tilted his head in a birdlike manner, curious. It was quite the outrageous thing to say. Dangerous to put on paper. But it was clear he was intrigued.
"I'm listening." His deep voice was quiet, rusty from lack of use, and held an intensity only matched by the look in his eyes.
