At the sudden shout Bastien jumped only a little, lifting his brush (annoyed that Nate had caused him to make a bump in his line) and looked over to see the source, raising his eyebrows. Being Ascended and a reasonably charismatic man (and a calm one) he was not too panicked by noises in the night, more irritated that someone had felt the need to make them.
