With a final pat you tuck the feather into your pocket, then scoot your way out of the coral house, expecting the bird to remain fixed to your shoulder.
An aggressive stretch of your arms above your head is a not-so-passive-aggressive means of trying to unseat your little hitchhiker. Honestly, you don't mind the weight too much - Ki spends so much time on your shoulder that you've come to feel more comfortable with someone else there. "So what're you doin' livin' in a lighthouse, birdy? Spyin' on the governor? Or workin' for him?" You stretch forward now, very casually, reaching for your toes and wondering what the bird will do in reaction as you flip its perch upside down.
