To find forgiveness in the weeds
Sam jumped as Amalia suddenly appeared behind him to announce that it was time for a 'game', one word that shot social fear into him like nothing else. Still, it was a special occasion, so he tried to give her a smile, as awkward as it was. Everyone ran about in a hubbub of getting ready and he watched with the thought (a common one) that he wished he could be better at this sort of thing.
Still, at least it was clear what to do. Sam walked to a chair currently empty (and ideally, not next to anyone else) and stood by it, patiently waiting for the game to start.
