"Liar. You want it to protect you during the most cold and dark and dangerous of nights. The bird has only remained in the Grounds because it was trapped. If you truly cared, you'd find a way to return it to its home. But you want a perch that it might sit upon when it pleases you, and only when it pleases you. To have the creature dwell where you've placed your perches before in any season other than DeepFrost would be to doom the entirety of the Settlement. And to have it sit elsewhere, why...then it wouldn't protect you from that which dwells in the darkness."
