Well, well, well. Decisions are made, and they will have a cost.
Luck is not onMorgan's side tonight, and nor is it on the side of her guards. Who knows what happened, in the dark and the cold - did someone slip, or knock into each other, bringing the others down? Did the GM roll a 1? Whatever the reason, whilst her orders are clear (crystal clear, ringing proudly across the battlefield), they are not followed. Not by her guards, and not by Loren.
And the results are devastating. The cultists do not take long to gather their resolve, and the Deepfrost Shields are shredded and lanced through by spears of ice, leaving them bleeding and weak on the snow. Things are getting desperate for them.
But at least there is some good news, andWeaver's fire detonates again among the cultists, sizzling, scorching, sending cascades of light across the snow. It is joined by Zariah's fireball which hits the leader square in the chest, such is his distraction.
And then there is the phoenix, swooping down to finish the job, leaving nothing but ash and mageglass upon the ground. The cultists charge Zariah's cage now - for they will get through, one way or another.
