Heading towards the pantry, he fished inside and pulled out an apple and some nuts instead. Holding those out towards her, he nevertheless arched an eyebrow at her. "It wasn't that bad, was it?" He glanced at the sushi, looking oddly vulnerable.
Then his expression grew sly. "Speaking of grown-ups, do you think your dads would like it?" He spoke in that same conspiratorial whisper.
