Deepfrost
The lamp is burnin' low upon my table top, the snow is softly fallin'
The air is still within the silence of my room, I hear your voice softly callin'

As Leafchange comes to a close and you tuck yourselves in for the night, snow begins to fall.

And fall.

And fall.

When you wake a thick blanket of snow is already covering most of the land. Tree boughs groan as the weight pulls them down and the world seems to have fallen silent as the thick white stuff dampens all sound. As sunlight chases away the darkness, light sparkles on the hoar frost that seems to have coated everything. It is as if you are trapped inside of a snow-globe. And in a way you are. Hopefully no one gives it a shake.

One afternoon you decide to build a rudimentary snowman. Deciding it isn't very good, you knock it down only to notice that...it springs back up again? Odd...Again you push the head off, and again it magically reforms itself. Trying another tactic, you make a snowball and throw it at a wall. Though it shatters, the sphere reforms itself perfectly before it hits the ground.

How strange...

As darkness falls again (how short these days are becoming!) you notice a glow far off in the distance. Surely candlelight can't be that bright? You wonder what it is, but for the time being, it doesn't come any closer and you put it out of your mind. Instead you think of the LongNight that the Naturals keep talking about. A week of darkness? Monsters coming out at night? Surely that can't be real?

Welcome to Deepfrost

This is Deepfrost's Seasonal Event! At the end of Deepfrost there is a week-long period of darkness. Ask some of the locals what this is about and take a peek at Notice Board to see the nice message that one of the Naturals has kindly left!

This Seasonal Event will last from January 1 - February 28. During that time you must complete the following threads:
  1. 3 threads with the Luxere, either trying to coax them to you, feeding them, etc.
  2. 1 thread attaining fuel/light for the week of darkness
  3. 2 threads stock piling/hunting/gathering food
  4. 1 thread about one of the various LongNight rituals! (Chat with the natives or read the notice board to learn more!)
  5. 1 thread during the LongNight

All 8 requirements must be met to complete the event. Multiple characters can participate, but the threads do not carry across! (I.E. Both characters must complete all eight threads to gain +2 stat each).

Please include {SEASONAL EVENT} somewhere in your thread title, especially if you make an open thread!

The luxere are yours to NPC around, no need to use the NPC account or wait for a RE. Read up on their description to represent them accurately (see below).

Once you've met the above requirements, respond to this SWE in your OOC account, giving links to your threads and telling us which character and which stat you'd like to increase!

2 new species have been added to the guidebook!

Luxere: Luxere are a species of reindeer who through genetic mutation have  developed bio-luminescent antlers. Their antlers glow a soft golden colour and they seem to naturally repel dark magic as well as magical darkness. This kindhearted species of deer can only be found during cold months, and they seem to travel down to inhabited areas for the sole reason of providing light to those who cannot see during the LongNight.  Though they are kind and gentle, they are also rather skiddish, dislike loud noises and tend to avoid dark-magic users and favour light-magic users. They like fresh fruit, hay, and singing.

Memory Snow: When shaped, the snow that falls during Deepfrost seems to retain a memory of that shape and will reform if disassembled (snowmen who are knocked over or who melt will immediately reform when possible).
