With her interest elsewhere, it’s easy for Haai to seemingly forget about Samuel as she slips out the door. Sunjata, on the other hand, stands and moves to walk beside Sam — glancing down to the other man briefly as he spots the wariness, edging himself a bit closer to keep prying eyes and threats away. And it works, easily enough, everyone simply returning to whatever it was they were doing.
But when they’re outside and Sam mentions the stars, the Attuned looks up and watches them briefly. “They are.” He agrees easily, before flashing Samuel a small smile and gesturing toward the lighthouse in the distance with his tattooed arm cloaked in black waves with a galaxy pattern within. “They’re better over there by the lighthouse. You can almost see them all, though it makes sense. Safrin’s shrine is within.” He explains, offering a small smile for that — something fonder.
He pushes it aside to focus on the other thing the Ascended said, some kind of low hum of a rumble in agreement slipping from his throat, letting Sam guide the way. “My world was similar to this, in a way. My sister and I used to sneak out of our house to go to the ocean.” A hint of nostalgia coats his features before he’s focusing back on Sam at his side. “Was coming here your first time seeing an ocean?”
