It would be a lie to say that there wasn't a smile on Vai's face as she took her shot, another arrow already in hand, smoothly nocked into place. But as she drew back the bowstring, wouldn't you believe it, the creature became a person and well, fucking fucking fuck. "Oh shit." She hissed out a curse herself, bow and arrow abandoned as she rose to her feet to hop through the thickets towards the man.
"I'm so fucking sorry, I didn't know you were Attuned," she said, the words coming out in a rush as she placed herself in his line of sight, crouched before him with blue eyes on the wound pissing with blood rather than his face, for now. "I have healing magic - do you mind if I...?" She nodded at his neck, like it should be obvious. "Don't talk, if you can't. Just... a thumbs up will work, I guess."
Call it inappropriate joviality, call it panic. Either way, shooting a man in the neck had not been the intention.
