Loren's expression tightened with grief. Throat half-choked, he tried to express his own feelings of grief as well as provide what little comfort he could. "Because I care about you, dumbass." The words were hot, as burning as the tears that ran down his cheeks and the fiery phoenix that circled and cried out overhead.
"Because I didn't save your life just to watch you throw it away. Because this won't solve anything. Won't do anything but cause people more grief." Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes. "But most of all because I know if Weaver were here right now, she'd try to stop you too. And probably have quite a few choice words for you as well." He continued holding Korbin, not willing or able to let go.
