The obstacle in his path stopped too, and now the way was blocked. The young raven just stood there, waiting. Didn't return Chulane's greeting, or say anything at all. When it became clear that this was a mental collision of misunderstood purpose, he turned to go back in the direction he had come from. It didn't matter where he went.
But his name was repeated, and like a puppet on strings the tall youth stopped again, and turned sluggishly back.
"Yes?" he responded, quiet and dull. There was no bite in him, none of that annoyance or stiff politeness from earlier encounters. No snark, or mischief... nothing. He was a sleepwalker trapped in a waking nightmare, and the dark hue of his eyes reflected no emotion at all.
