And then he shifts from the panther shift into the macaw, long navy feathers nearly black in the dark stormy night, wings spreading to push himself up off the sands and to land on her shoulder as delicately as he can. His feathered head dips down and nestles into her curls, peeking out of it to the path they take. “Fine.” He rumbles in a croaky, throaty avian voice.
