"Okay, no outlanders. No strangers. Halo born and bred." Noah let his eyes scan the staff throughout the tavern. They were fairly young, and seemed to lack real direction and motivation. "If you didn't stand behind the bar and run it, would you train someone up to eventually manage it while you oversaw it all?" If Korbin wanted to have ownership of the bar, but not serve drinks and meals and assign rooms and beds, he could surely get the place squared up again and take a step back. but, knowing the Hales, none of them had a "hands off" approach to anything they did.
The reindeer could feel the raven's eyes on him, and as he turned to look at the younger man one more he watched as steel eyes fell. Noah's face, softened from initial neutrality, sunk a little. "I just don't want to lose you, too, Korbin." The raven was all he had left of Halo untouched. He had relationships with other people, but none as close and as deep as the ones he had shared with the Hales. Other Halovians had other pockets of people and chumming groups. Without Korbin, Noah had only outlanders.
