Even despite having Zeph’s name, Felix is still uncertain, still somewhat on the fence but he knows his bear shift well enough that he’d be able to get out of it if he needed to. So he reluctantly follows along, frowning despite the fact that this strange man before him knows his name because of his mother, and gods was that dull. Of course she’d have eyes on him out here, to keep him out of trouble. It makes sense, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it one bit.
So he pelts the other man with questions instead, though his lips remain in a frown. “Why aren’t I?” He wants to learn all there is to Torchline, far too innocent of a mind to know about anything else that Torchline might have to offer. He sees it as its face value, a bunch of people together fishing and what looks like celebrating despite the midnight sky above.
Luckily for Felix, Zeph releases his arm and the young man immediately folds his arms across his chest, frowning as he stares at Zeph. There’s a tone to the other man’s voice that Felix doesn’t get, doesn’t fully understand for not having a father around. But he does know it sounds a lot like his mother and when it’s coming from a stranger, he immediately doesn’t want to listen. “How patient?” He questions, a bit demanding instead. “Do I have to wait until I’ve aged enough that it seems like I’ll get it then? I’m sixteen, I can’t spend all this time learning the stuff I missed out on in time.” There’s a bit more of a pout to him, a dejected sort of… Exhausted look, tired of hearing that very same excuse over and over again for people not telling him things.
