Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
If he keeps his head down, if he focuses on only the work, Nate can just about ignore the irritation still making his fingers twitch with the urge to solve the problem, in the short term. It isn't worth the long term hassle. Not right now at least. With the job he does, it almost seems as if Nate has some experience scrubbing deep dark stains out of floors, not a trace of stain left by the time he's finished, water dyed a rusty red when he tips it into the street, holding the door open for Sunjata to amble back in, all their cleaning done.

There's more to do, because it's never quite as simple as just a good cleaning, is it? An arm is thrown around Sunjata's waist easily as he listens to the bookmaker list out the next few tasks, careful of the still healing burns but Nate wants, needs the anchor, the reminder to keep his head, to get through the job in relative peace.

Neither of his thumbs was green, and there was still the pesky problem of the sun, so Nate's choices were limited to painting, or, well... painting. There was no complaint from him though, as he silently grabbed a bucket of paint and a brush, a brow and a second brush offered out towards Sunjata. Art also wasn't a particular skill of his, but he could put down a base coat, could cover the butchers branding over the walls.

Temptation knocks, as it is wont to do to those with a chip in their shoulder and poor willpower, whispering that he could probably get away with doing an intentionally shitty job, with barely covering the walls properly. Nate entertains the idea for a moment, then almost audibly sighs, resisting it, if only for his own reputation. He chooses a pale green, hoping to cancel out the red of the murals already there, and gets to work painting.

Nate takes painting and starts working on a green base
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
