If it wasn't for her, he might've tripped up, might've gotten lost in the emotions he always struggled to navigate, so used to just shoving them aside, letting them build up until they were unmanageable. But with her, he was able to feel them, to ride them out, to continue to live in the moment, to let them shift into something lighter, something more playful - that it was alright to feel that way, to move on, to live life.

Her laugh brings him back, summons his own humour, his own smile returning to his lips as thought shift to more playful things. And when she questions his statement, he leans in close to her, murmuring a low "Yes, you are," before pressing a slow and deliberate kiss to her cheek, shifting in his seat to be closer to her, to sling an arm around her, to hold her hand still with the other.

He could keep kissing her, could let his kiss linger on forever, have it explore her form as it had so many times before. But when he was done, he just lingered close instead, hearing her talk of kissing girls, of kissing people other than him. There was no jealousy in him, for she was with him now, but there was a cheeky sort of amusement behind his eyes as he thought of it. "Hope they know how lucky they were," he whispered from his close proximity, a smirk on his lips, his tone soft and low.
