In the blackened waters of conceit I saw my silhouette, pale and bleached
It's not often they receive invitations to things, and that's exactly the way Nerissa prefers it. Too much of the wrong kind of attention, and their whole operation could be ruined. This one is a little bit different though. Her interest was piqued, and so she ventured out, Olavi at her side, to slip through the submerged tunnels of the fingers, her own glow the only light guiding them. It was a path she could almost follow in her sleep though, the lower tunnels more untouched by the eruption of Apopo.
"Are we first?" Nerissa speaks just loud enough to keep her voice from echoing around the walls, eerie blue lights colouring the water around her. Olavi is somewhere behind her, as he so often is, a single tentacle outstretched towards him, keeping him close enough that either of them could reach out and be touching. "How exciting." It's nearly impossible to tell, but she is utterly sincere. This is the kind of thing she lives for, things moving, and the promise of yet more, if this gets off the ground the way she thinks it's supposed to.
For the moment, she merely turns to their unexpected host and leans as far out of the water as she can manage, smiling at him with pale eyes and a few too many teeth. "You look different." This is loud enough to echo, aimed specifically at Zeph, though she can't actually put her finger on whats changed. It wasn't as if she saw many mouth breathers up close and personal.
