Remi was shocked by the sudden plummeting feeling of disappointment that coursed through him as Sam declined. Or at least sounded as though he was declining. Without knowing much about the man it was hard for the alchemist to discern what was his normal state of uncertainty and what was genuine ambivalence. That, and without any prior situations that even came close to this, Remi truly didn't know what his limits were in terms of blood capacity he could lose. Or Sam's.
