Not just one bird. A lot of them. But like the determined party you are, you go through the fog that Pim had created through the trees. Visibility is low here, you begin to be unable to see your companions as you trek further in. The bird calls grow louder, until the heavy sound of wings beating begins anew. They head for Ronin again, but the Star despite the low visibility manages to avoid colliding with one. They pass by Phoebe with little more than a bit of wind to blow around strands of blonde hair.
Turns out they aren’t going for you.
They are fleeing.
The fog grows thicker, and it’s Remi that despite his size and form, gets tangled up as the jungle begins to drop vines atop him, trapping him into place, pulling him down and down. And that’s when he sees it — it almost looks like a tiger, painted a brilliant hue of silver with black stripes, blending into the fog like the predator it is. It looks like it might be protecting something. It looks like it’s pissed.
A split second of narrowed golden eyes. And then it lunges, it’s jaws wide as it latches onto Remi’s throat.
